Every month we pick some of the station’s residents who are really pushing their shows. This month we have Scott, Finwa, Perception & Toast, Gina and Sub Merchants!

Make sure you read what these amazing presenters and/or DJ’s are up to.

Every third Thursday, Ivy Scott showcases the best in bass-driven, percussive music across several dance genres. Over the summer you can expect her to serve a healthy dose of UKG to get you bouncing – and be sure to keep an eye out for some wicked guests too.

Finwa, Perception & Toast

Since their debut on Subtle Radio back in 2017, Perception, Finwa and MC Toast have crafted a show that features some of the sharpest mixes and eclectic selection within the realms of 140 – 170 bass music. The trio effortlessly complement one another to feature some of the heaviest selections.

2021 and beyond looks like some interesting evolution between the three, each working to bring through some exciting new direction to the show in various forms. The aim for the future is to find and bring new talent to the show, whether through up and coming producers, DJs or lyricists and bring something new to the listener base in the way of down to earth interviews to unpack their guests’ journeys within the industry.

Individually the three also have some exciting developments in the works with Finwa working hard on his new venture with the Metaphor Agency, Toast on the scout for up and coming talent and Perception honing his passion for the music industry, business and entrepreneurship to collectively bring new material and unique insight to the Subtle Radio brand. Finwa / Metaphor has also hinted at a new label that will be coming through alongside a host of events and also a heavy weight line up curated for the Finwa Presents stage and Outlook Festival 2021.

As we move into the summer months, and the hopes of a return to normal, expect some fresh new content and some exciting developments from these three.

The Lucid Juice Show

Hi, I’m Gina, founder of Lucid Juice which initially started as a Manchester-based party/event series. I focus on all things bass music from dubstep to jungle to breakbeat. In my show I want to give a platform to up-and-coming artists, especially underrepresented communities. Although I have artists from all over the country, I love bringing northern sound to Subtle, and promoting our very talented friends up here in Manchester.

After over a year out of the event scene, I finally have some exciting things coming up. An event has been booked for early July in Manchester and I’m very excited to announce it so keep your eyes peeled for the announcement very soon! think footwork, jungle and hardcore!!! A big goal of mine is to start running events in other cities and connect with different creatives all over the country so it would be great for that to be the next step for Lucid Juice.

Sub Merchants

Having been a regular part of the Subtle family for over 4 years, Sub Merchants relaunched as a multi-genre label imprint in the early part of 2020, using much of the downtime that the year brought to hone their sound before releasing their first EP in December, showcasing the sound of contemporary jungle music in the modern age.

Paying homage to the historical impact and relevance of radio on the sounds they love, label managers Drumterror and Jwarn take to the Subtle airwaves every month to showcase their latest finds, displaying a wide variety of tracks spanning everything from dubstep, to UKG, to ambient, to jungle, and sometimes maybe even the odd wildcard… don’t say we didn’t warn you. With the next phase of their label cycle focusing on the sounds of 140 bass music, and a number of live events planned for the remainder of the year (including a recently sold-out show in London), the Sub Merchants crew have absolutely no intention of slowing down. Tune in every third Friday of the month to see what all the buzz is about.
